Sign of life


This devlog is a generic sign of life. I decided to write something as it's been a long time since I updated my game and some of the updates didn't even get a written update. I want to divide it into two parts - elements that are present in the current build and stuff that is being worked on or is somewhat ready for deployment but needs additional testing.

For the existing stuff

  • Dirk has new ability that uses intellect - reading books can unlock new ways to solve puzzles, mainly add new dialog trees
  • Two new rooms with additional items, ways to access, interactions
  • Basic introduction to what is our main task. It's one of the possibilities that will grant the player an objective to visit the mansion. 
  • Modified endings accomodating our new task
  • Extra hidden dialogues

For the things that are still ongoing and NOT present in current build

  • New walking animation, two-hand combat animation, pick up animation
  • New sprites for completely new areas - coastline and riverside
  • New ability - swimming, complete with new sprites
  • New screen with stat points, complete with upgraded descriptions of your skills
  • Various bug fixes and rebalancing of skills


Also there's plenty of works under the hood that should speed up my development progress (namely tools for building levels).
