Dirk The Adventurer
A downloadable RPG adventure for Windows

The kingdom is in peril. An ancient evil slowly awakens; a hole in the ground grows larger, and new hellspawn crawl out from it, destroying the northern provinces. The royal army and its lieutenants are fighting an uneasy battle, and a call to arms has been raised to rally all capable men to join the cause. As a young member of the fighter’s guild, you are among them and set out north with your comrades… but after one merry night at the tavern, they leave and forget about you! Those gophers! What’s worse is that your equipment has been stolen, your tab is unpaid, and you have no idea where the northern road actually is!
But that’s not all. With the army and most of the fighting force moving north, the countryside is largely unguarded. Wildlife is growing restless. Monsters roam the common roads. Old grudges can finally be enacted. Witches, sorceresses, fiends, rogues, thieves, smugglers, assassins — everyone with hidden agendas — feel the iron grip loosening. In this chaos, one outsider can make all the difference.
But that's not you… right?

Dirk the Adventurer is an RPG adventure game unlike any other. It’s part point-and-click, part metroidvania, and part choice-driven, story-rich RPG. But what does that really mean? In practice, it’s a project focused on non-linear narrative. RPG elements play a large role — different stats unlock new ways to tackle challenges. An intricate system of perks changes the way you play. Fight, run, jump, climb, sneak, eavesdrop, learn, steal, charm, or deduce your way out of any situation. Of course, at the very beginning your stats are abysmal, so not everything is possible right away.
Currently, the demo presents a set scenario in which you can solve the main puzzles in different ways. A couple of NPCs, a handful of enemies, items to pick up, combine, and use, unfair pits to jump over, and a few puzzles to solve — all with a touch of light humour. With each successful run, you earn extra stat points to distribute, unlocking the full potential of our hero. There are more than a handful of possible endings.

The game has been in development for quite some time and will continue to be updated with new areas to explore, NPCs to interact with, and branching story paths to discover. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the endings won’t just be slightly different — they’ll truly matter.

Fine, I'll get the game. Your shill did a good job of highlighting the strengths of your game. I hope he isn't doing it for free
He'll get one extra tendie tonight.
Got recommended this off a mongolian basket weaving forum. Had lots of fun with the demo levels, wish you the best of luck!
